Can’t Stop the Feeling! Song and Dance Week

Our Grace Community School Song and Dance Week Performances!

This summer we continued our tradition of learning a special song and dance routine for Song and Dance Week, and the kids outdid themselves!

We chose a song most of the kids were familiar with, “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” from the Trolls movie. We worked hard every day during the week practicing our dance moves and recorded our videos on Friday. Here are the results — thanks for watching!

Showtime! 2017 Graduation Program

Photos from Showtime!

The 2017 school year is done, and with it our Pre-K and Kindergarten graduation programs!

Our theme this year was “Broadway” featuring medleys of classic showtunes and movie songs, and the children’s performances did not disappoint.

Around the World Week

At Grace Community School, there is always something fun and educational going on. Around the World Week was especially fun — we made stops in Italy, Mexico, China, France, and Germany; we even sampled food from each different country!

Grace Community School YouTube

At Grace Community School, we love photos, but sometimes a video is even better! One of the great things about living in the modern age is how easy it is to make videos. So we make a lot of them! We post frequently on our social media channels, but we put our best videos on the Grace Community School YouTube channel.

The Grace Community School YouTube channel is a great way for you to see more about our programs. We love making videos where our students are the stars!

From the Whale March to our Summer Camp water slides, you can see all the fun we have every day at Grace Community School.

And check out our reader videos. That’s right, Our Preschoolers Can Read!

Find Grace Community School on YouTube, like and subscribe! The subscribing part is important because that means you’ll get an email notification whenever we put up a new video.

Merry Christmas 2016!

Grace Community School kids with Christmas presentsAgain: Merry Christmas! Another year has come to a close, and it’s been a great one here at Grace Community School. Our kids have been very busy, with our Christmas programs (see our Lee County program photos here, our Collier County program photos here, and our Port Charlotte program photos here), gift exchanges, and parties, but we have one more gift for you!

If a picture is worth a thousand words, how many words is a video worth? You tell us! This Christmas we’ve got three special videos the children made for just you posted below. Merry Christmas, and may God bless you throughout 2017!

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

First, Gracie the Whale was able to make it out to our Naples Park and Golden Gate Christmas Celebration! programs this year, to the delight of everyone. These shows are so special we made a video to share with you some of the best moments from that weekend!

Second, while she couldn’t get to our other programs this time, Gracie the Whale visited all our other school locations. She sang Christmas songs with the children, gave out hugs and high fives, and spread holiday cheer. It was wonderful!

Finally, we had the kids say what was on all our minds: Merry Christmas to all of you! You are such a blessing to us, and we want to thank you for the opportunity to serve your families and the Southwest Florida community.

See you in 2017!

Have a Blast With the Grace Community School Kids During Song and Dance Week!

Song and Dance Week Video ThumbnailCheck out our YouTube video playlist below. As you can tell, the kids did a great job learning our special song, Meghan Trainor’s “Better When I’m Dancin.”

We even did some glow in the dark dancing!

We have found that the best way to keep kids interested in learning is to make it fun! This is one reason why every week is a theme week at Grace Community School. Song and Dance Week is just one of almost thirty different exclusive theme weeks we have for our students. Every single week has its own activities, art projects, themed educational activities, and coloring papers. Many of these weeks also have dress-up and other participation days.

Awesome dress-up days (like you see here from School Spirit Week) allow for maximum participation by Grace Community School students.

One question parents ask frequently is how they can keep up with all our planned activities. In addition to signs and notes in each location’s office and elsewhere, there are other resources to keep parents informed:

The learning never stops, and neither does the fun!

Happy 4th of July 2016!

So patriotic!

And the Winner Is…

A month ago we invited our Grace Community School family to email us video testimonials to enter to win a week of free childcare at Grace Community School. We got some great videos, but sadly we could only pick one winner.

Here she is! Kristin Rhoad from the Fort Myers Grace Community School was the winner. She received a free week of daycare for her son, Cameron.

Video Testimonial 3-30-16Another awesome video testimonial! Thank you for sharing! Tomorrow is the last day for video contest entries. Email your video to video@gracecommunityschools.com

Posted by Grace Community School on Wednesday, March 30, 2016

Thank you to everyone who entered! Did you miss out on this contest? Don’t worry! We plan to do a different video contest soon. Stay tuned 🙂

We Want Your Videos!

We’re having a video contest, and giving away a free week’s tuition! We’ve had hundreds of parents submit written testimonials to us over the years, (If you’d still like to do that, you can find an online form for that here) but people have told us that they feel self-conscious writing something down on paper, or that they feel they don’t have enough to say.

So this time, we’re making it easy. All you need is your phone and 10 seconds. We’ll even give you something to say.

Video selfie
All you need is your phone!

Just record a 10 to 15-second video on your phone of yourself telling us why you or your children love Grace Community School. That’s it! If you can’t think of anything else to say, you can just record yourself saying, “Grace Community School: we’re more than a school, we’re family!” We will judge videos on creativity and enthusiasm, so don’t hold back. Email your video to video@gracecommunityschools.com, and you will be entered to win a free week’s tuition at Grace Community School. Grace Community School will share some of these videos on our Facebook and other social media sites. We will be accepting submissions all month, and choosing a winner after March 31st.

To get you started, here’s one I did:
